1) Company overview

The organization flourished over the years and with its own progress, it continued to explore new dimensions in science of medicines. The Research and Development lab was set up with the same integrity in the year 1971. The constant up gradation has added a number of medicines in different fields. The anti TB products like Zucon and Rizap, the anti histamine medicine Cetzine are results of the research work. It also launched the oral contraceptives. The second drugs factory at Ankleshwar, Gujarat provided the impetus to the Organization to make it big across the globe.
The name Glaxo smithkline Pharmaceuticals Ltd was born in the year 2001 due to the merger of Smithkline Beecham Parmaceuticals and Glaxo India Limited. Apart from its success and the developments in field of medicines, CSR activities have also earned great reputation for the Company. The under privileged have received enough from this firm. The long term project also exists in the Rural as well as the urban areas.
2) The products
The Prescription drugs and the non prescription drugs are the two prime categories in which the products of the organization are divided. The non prescribed ones include the products in the segments of Nutritional Food, Antioxidant, Moisturizing creams and lotions, sunscreen. The prescribed drugs represent a huge set of medicines and vaccines. The cough syrups, the nasal sprays, the multivitamins, the ear and the eye drops, the nasal drops, the skin ointments and many such categories contain large number of products individually. The drugs pertaining to oncology, gynecology, heart diseases and respiratory diseases also feature in the range of products.
