In the starting company was named as The Chemical, Industrial & Pharmaceutical Laboratories after 50 years company changes its anme to Cipla

It has more than 28,000 employees 170 countries across the globe. In India Cipla has 34 production units that manufactures 2000 products/medicines in  65 therapeutic categories. All the units are equipped with world class facilities and focus on product quality. Besides manufacturing good quality medicines, It also provide free medical services to needed people. Till date cipla has completed free treatment of over 8500 patients suffering from diseases like respiratory, weight control, diabetes, urology, musculoskeletal, neuropsychiatry, oncology, HIV-AIDS, allergy, anti-infectives etc.

Cipla has 34 manufacturing units in PAN India that products following products Oncology, Hormones, Metered-Dose Inhalers (MDIs), Beta-Lactams, Cytotoxic, Injectables etc. Manufacturing units are equipped  with modern machines and follow standard safety and environment polices. All the under are approved by Government of India and Ministry of Health. It maintains high standards of quality in product manufacturing and produce medicines at affordable rates.

Contribution in fighting against HIV/AIDS

CIPLA  is the major producer of HIV/AIDS drugs. Globally it produces more than 40% of total consumed HIV vaccines. It the first company to register HIV drugs in US relief program PEPFAR
